Description
Some fan sketches of characters from the webcomic "Penny Arcade", which has had a noticeable influence on my artwork, especially earlier on. I plan on inking and colouring these, as well as more characters (fully and not cut off) eventually.
Here's some character descriptions.
Top left - Charles: A Macintosh lover, who also loves pie. His trademark phrase was "shut your pie hole" in the earlier strips, and is occasionally seen baking a pie in the newer ones as a reference to the old catchphrase. The scan got cut off at the hair, unfortunately.
Top middle - Annarchy (Anne Claire Brahe): Tycho's young niece who is an incredibly large hardcore gamer and has a vast knowledge of the English language, not to mention Klingon and perhaps even Japanese (having beaten the original Final Fantasy on the Famicom, or "Nintendo Entertainment System" as it was called in America, "in the original Japanese"). In this picture she wields a bat'leth, you filthy p'tahk.
Top right - Gabe (Johnathan Gabriel): One of the main two protagonists of Penny Arcade (alongside Tycho), Gabe represents Mike Krahulik, the comic's artist (though Gabe is not a direct caricature of Mike). Gabe is the energetic and free-spirited one, though he is known to submit to angry outbursts and the occasional latent homosexual tendency. He often fantasizes himself as a samurai who carries a cardboard tube for a weapon in feudal Japan.
Middle left - The Fruit Fucker 2000: Pretty much what the name suggests, the FF2K uses the metal "shaft" to penetrate fruits, collects and mixes the juice, and then lets it all go, sometimes into a glass for its master to enjoy. He has, at one point, joined the Grove Street Gang, which explains the mask.
Middle right - Div: A drunken, talking DIVX player with a hostile, surly attitude and a penchant for consuming large quantities of alcohol. He often insults Gabe and Tycho, calling them "girls" or "ladies" or the like. His shopping list consists of condoms and rum.
Bottom left - Jesus Christ: Our lord and savior, Jesus is a big fan of games, it seems, and of throwing up "the horns" when he is victorious. He has no qualms about "type-killing", and does, in fact, bring those "blue sparks" in Mario Kart Double Dash. He is effing metal.
Bottom right - Tycho Brahe: The comic alter-ego of the strip's writer Jerry Holkins (also not a caricature of Jerry himself), and the protagonist of Penny Arcade (alongside Gabe). Tycho is bitter and sarcastic and possibly alcoholic. He loves tabletop RPGs, books, Harry Potter, unnecessarily large words and deflating Gabe's ego. He is the author of the epic fantasy series "The Elemenstor Saga".
You can see how big a fan I am. There are still several other characters I need to add for the list to become complete.
